Practicum

In fulfillment for my Spring 2023 Practicum at the Middlebury Institute for International Studies, I have completed 5 interconnected deliverables. This project was in collaboration with bilingual (Spanish/English) Gerizim Christian School located in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Together, we focused on building the foundation of a million dollar capital campaign and English language learning support. A link to the final presentation can be found HERE.

01

This literature review is the first of five parts of my Spring 2023 MA/MPA practicum, and aligns with two IEM Learning Goals: International Education Theory and Practice, as well as Interpersonal, Intercultural, and Linguistic Competence. It serves as the baseline for the other four deliverables and was utilized as a reference tool in the creation of several elements for the overall project, Harvesting Hope, and the broader education and fundraising systems in conflict zones.

02

This comprehensive Work Plan serves as the second of five parts of my Spring 2023 MA/MPA Practicum and aligns with one IEM Learning Goal: Program Administration. It outlines a capital fundraising campaign specifically tailored to the context of Harvesting Hope, which is a newly launched capital campaign to support the growth and development of Gerizim Christian School.

03

This funding analysis is the third of five parts of my Spring 2023 MA/MPA practicum, and aligns primarily with one IEM Learning Goal, Program Administration, and secondarily with Interpersonal, Intercultural, and Linguistic Competence and Sustainable Education. This deliverable has dual purpose: documentation of a grant proposal and a guide that can be replicated for future grant prospecting.

04

This English Language Audit Rubric serves as the fourth of five parts of my Spring 2023 MA/MPA Practicum and aligns with three IEM Learning Goals: Program Design and Assessment, Interpersonal, Intercultural (ICC), and Linguistic Competence, and Sustainable Education. It serves as a comprehensive assessment tool for evaluating the performance of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) teachers and their courses at Gerizim Christian School and is to be used in conjunction with the TEFL Toolkit from Deliverable 5.

05

This TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Toolkit serves as the fifth of five parts of my Spring 2023 MA/MPA Practicum and aligns with three IEM Learning Goals: Program Design and Assessment, Interpersonal, Intercultural (ICC), and Linguistic Competence, and Sustainable Education. It serves as a comprehensive resource guide for supporting TEFL teachers and their courses at Gerizim Christian School and is to be used in conjunction with the English Language Audit Rubric from Deliverable 4.
